Goldfish

Second grade PES artists love Henri Matisse! The bright colors and patterns he used in his paintings and collages are very interesting. Matisse's painting The Goldfish is especially fun!

These second grade artists were inspired by The Goldfish to create a collage of their own fish bowl!

Self Portraits

Above is an Artist stamping patterns on paper.

I meant to post these a while ago, oops.

Kindergarten Artists created wonderful collaged self portraits using patterned paper they made themselves earlier this fall. Our emphasis was on scissor and glue skills.

Paper Cutouts a la Matisse!

2nd grade artists were inspired by the paper cutout art of Henri Matisse to create beautiful collages using only organic shapes.

An Organic shape is a shape withOUT a name.

Recycled Art

Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd, the same day as our art show at PES! In the spirit of Earth Day, 4th grade, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students are all working on "trash collages" in different forms. The artists are using a variety of boxes to create some very interesting collages! The Art Room is a big mess, but we're enjoying the recycling!
