Have you ever heard of Porkchop Productions?! They are a phenomenal travelling children's theatre group. Well, it's really only two people, but from the amount of characters they each play, it seems like many more! These ladies do an incredible job of interacting with the audience and it is a real adventure to be at one of their shows!
Our after school program students and their parents were treated to a performance of Sleeping Beauty on Tuesday evening and it was SO GOOD. The kids, parents, and teachers were completely engaged.
I love the arts- visual, music, theatre, dance, and creative writing. I believe that it is essential for our students to be involved in and exposed to all of the fine arts- the earlier the better. Sadly, theatre and dance are not offered as courses in many elementary schools in South Carolina. That's why programs and groups like Porkchop Productions are so valuable in our state. I highly recommend them if you ever have the funds and time to bring performers into your school!
